Conclusion

(Colourbox, n.d)
The way we as a society view people with disabilities impacts their daily lives in every way - from the treatment they receive, how they travel, and how they are treated by their peers. Although the medical model is useful and necessary on an individual basis, we believe that the social model of disability is the most beneficial to our society. The social model allows us to see our world, empathize with others who are different than us, and change our world for the better. As future educators, it is our duty to teach the children in our care to embrace and integrate those that are different, and this is accomplished through the social model of disability.
